It has some of the same advantages as the full-face tunnel boring machine: continuous excavation, no blasting vibration, more freedom to determine the appropriate time to support the rock; can reduce overbreak; and can save rock support and lining costs.

4. Compared with the full-face roadheader, the cantilever roadheader has a compact structure, has greater flexibility in the tunnel, and can be used for any support type.

Compared with the full-face roadheader, it has the remarkable characteristics of low investment, short construction preparation time and high reusability.
